Our busy 4th of July weekend

Our 4th of July weekend actually started on the 1st. My parents came down for Kale's last Tball game of the season. He was so excited to have his grandparents come cheer him on. He was really cute. My dad had gotten a B's hat when he found out what team Kale played for and Kale made sure he was wearing it for the game.
Madi and Kate. They never watch the games :) They just love to play.
Kale and Katrina (Madi's sister)
My little catcher
Jack loved playing with grandpa's hat. He was pretty funny stealing it off his head and then hiding it behind his back.
The team
The 3 amigos. Toby, Katrina and Kale with their medals and team baseballs. Kale wore his medal to bed that night.
After the game we went to Dairy Queen to celebrate the end of a really fun first season of Tball.

We also did some little projects around the house while my parents were here. It's always nice to have extra help for projects as well as extra sets of hands and eyes to help with the children. Very nice.

Mark and I were able to go on a breakfast date on Friday which was really nice. Then we went to Walmart - I know, romantic - then to the local nursery and then to Home Depot. I tell ya we know how to celebrate our alone time. Anyway, we came home with 2 apple trees to plant.
We wanted to plant 2 memorial trees. One for baby quatro and one for Ranger. Under one tree we sprinkled Ranger's ashes. Eventually we'd like to add more trees and have more of a fruit orchard of sorts but for now we start with these two. I love them.

My parents bought us a flag. I was so excited to finally have a flag and proudly display it on our house. So proud that my mom, Mark and I had to go to the road and have my dad hold it up in different places so we could see where it looked the best :)
I also took a picture of our garden. So far so good. I mean the plants are still alive - I'm thrilled! We have tomatoes, peppers, jalapenos, cucumbers and strawberries. I wanted more but it wasn't possible this year. Maybe if we can keep these all alive then we'll do much more next year. That's all for now. I have lots of pictures from the parade we went to and from our time before the fireworks on Sunday night. I'll show those later. I'm trying not to overwhelm everyone with tons of pics.

God is the God of our yesterdays. He allows us the memory of them so we can turn the past into the ministry for the future.

"I don't think you can explain how Christian faith works. It is a mystery. And I love this about Christian spirituality. It cannot be explained, and yet it is beautiful and true. It is something you feel, and it comes from the soul."
