To Market, To Market...

On Saturday morning, while up in Golden, we headed to the Farmer's Market downtown - after we fed Lilah of course. I really don't know why I always take pictures while she's eating but I guess seeing my two littles coo over her while she's eating is just too sweet.Anyway, it's actually a really great market. Tons of food and things to do. There was a fine arts fair going on at the same time so we had plenty of stuff to look through. They also had the old schoolhouse building and farmhouses open with people dressed up telling you about life 150 years ago in Golden. It was seriously happening in Golden this weekend!

My mom, Jack, Mark and Kale.
Heading to school.
Can you just feel the excitement in the air?
Or not.
Heading from the Arts Fair to the Market...Kate with her Aunt Katie (my NY sis)Mark, Jack, Katie, Kate, my dad and LilahThey have free carriage rides through historic Golden so we hopped on and went for a quick 10 minute ride through an old neighborhood. The boys sideThe girls side. Me with the Kates.
One of the houses we went by had a killer tree house. It's made of metal! The kids wanted us to build one. Nice except we don't have one tree on our property that big...or thousands of dollars of metal to use up...After the carriage ride they had Popsicle treats. Then slid down the slide that led to...the giant, burning hot, metal trout. I have no idea how Kale is actually sitting on it. They were so hot!On the walk back to the car, super-aunt (that's her super-hero name) put the chubby, sweet baby to sleep. We left Golden after lunch to head back to D-town. We encountered a bad accident just two hours into the trip. We sat in traffic for almost an hour as they cleared the road. The kids did really well despite the extra hour in the car. This was Jack during the stop...We made it home, unpacked, put the kids to bed, then crashed ourselves. We had a great quick trip to G-town.

We've got a busy week ahead. Tomorrow morning I have jury duty. I'm praying I don't get picked. That would really put a HUGE kink in my already packed week. Hopefully I'll have time to blog this week....

God is the God of our yesterdays. He allows us the memory of them so we can turn the past into the ministry for the future.

"I don't think you can explain how Christian faith works. It is a mystery. And I love this about Christian spirituality. It cannot be explained, and yet it is beautiful and true. It is something you feel, and it comes from the soul."
