Fun on Friday - 9

Last weekend my wonderful sister-in-law, Julie, and her awesome painter-on-the-side hubby, Mike, came down to help us paint the outside of our house. It was in desperate need of a real paint job. During the summer, 9 years ago after we moved to this house, my good friend, Aimee, and I did our first ever paint job and painted our new house. We did alright for first timers but you could tell after years of sunlight fading away the paint, just how amateur we were.

We asked Mike to assist us this time and he so graciously agreed.

We first had to power wash the house of course. As well as test out paint colors...
A few before pictures
Friday of last week - Fun Friday - we {Julie, the kids and I} were asked to leave the house for several hours while Mike sprayed the main color on the house. With a few hours to kill I decided to call my friend, Sommer, and ask her about a really cool park in Delores, CO that she had told me about earlier. She directed us here...Tell me that doesn't look like fun?!
The sleeping dragonThe kids ran and played and explored (and whined...). They were hot and tired when we finally left. But my sis-in-law still had a smile on her face :)While we were gone these two guys worked their tails off painting the main color. Then I joined in the fun and we cranked out the rest of the house by Saturday afternoon. We painted the entire outside in just over 24 hours. It. Was. Awesome. I do have some after pictures so you can see the color. We now need to find a new skirt (even though I hate that they call it that it is what it is) for the bottom of the house. Because the rest of the house looks so awesome we are uber motivated to have it looked more finished. All of our exterior doors are now painted red. They look wonderful! We love it.Not sure if everyone would consider that a Fun Friday...

God is the God of our yesterdays. He allows us the memory of them so we can turn the past into the ministry for the future.

"I don't think you can explain how Christian faith works. It is a mystery. And I love this about Christian spirituality. It cannot be explained, and yet it is beautiful and true. It is something you feel, and it comes from the soul."
