This week the big 2 kids have been spending their evenings from 5-8 at Kidz Kaboom, an awesome event our church is helping put on thanks to our amazing children's pastor Jen. They've been looking forward to this all summer. It's kind of like a VBS but not. It's for kids age 6-12 and they offer all different kinda of instruction. Kids can do dance, drama, arts and crafts, soccer, volleyball, basketball....and martial arts. My kids? Yeah they picked martial arts. Kate asked me on the way to KK on Monday if they were gonna be allowed to fight people. When I told her no she asked if it was because it was a Christian thing. I explained to her that karate isn't taught so that people will beat each other up. I think she was looking forward to combat with Kale.
Showing off their moves.
I think Kale would like to continue with martial arts if he has the opportunity. Kate goes back and forth between that and horse back riding lessons (which we also have opportunity to do). We'll see how that pans out.
Mark was the speaker last night. He was amazing. Fun, energetic, silly and shared Gods love with all the kids. I think Kale and Kate were stinking proud of their dad.
I was so blessed by this event. Thursday night they gave out free haircuts and school supplies. They were wanting to reach out and love the community. I thought it was awesome.
Kaboom!
