12 Days of Christmas

My friend, Andie, at Quiet Times For Kids, has another {new} ebook Bible Study called The Twelve Days of Christmas. Quiet Times for Kids

Don't ya just love my new Christmas background?! It makes me want to go inside, have a cup of eggnog, listen to old Christmas music and curl up on the couch to watch Elf! Oh and wrap presents, bake cookies and caramel popcorn.... *sigh* I heart Christmas....

And I wanted to post this yesterday but something else was on my heart. If you haven't read it be sure to scroll down and read it.

So today I wanted to tell you about what my friend Andie and her family are doing. They are another homeschooling family (Mark and I know Scott and Andie from college) and they live up in Denver. They are seriously some of the sweetest people we know.Andie has been writing devotional books for kids. I really don't know how she does it or where she finds the time but I think they're amazing. They are a tad too old for Kale to do alone - it does require more reading then he is able to do for now - but in the future I am hoping to use them for all the kids. It's just getting them into the habit of reading, and hopefully falling in love, with God's word. She recently told me about the one she did for the Advent season. I went and bought one for myself and our family and have already looked through it (they are download-able so you get them instantly!).
I'm hoping to do a devotion together with our family each day throughout the Christmas season. It is going through the prophecies in the Old Testament and the fulfillment of those prophecies in the New Testament. All pointing to the birth and life of Jesus. There is even a little activity you can do each day together. It's really neat stuff for kids and their parents.

I will let you know how it goes with our little family. I'm really excited to have a way to help keep Jesus the focus of the Christmas season - especially since it can be so easy to be distracted!
