We had a busy weekend. Mark and I were able to go on a date on Friday night thanks to our amazing small group leaders - Jerome and Tiffany. They watched everyones kids for a couple hours Friday night and blessed us all with free babysitting! It was awesome and we are so thankful for them. It will be our turn soon enough to return the blessing :)
Saturday we decided to go trick-or-treating at the mall. Way better then braving cold weather and crazy drunk yucky people. We're not much in to Halloween. There's a ton that I do NOT like about it. However, I love to see little kids get dressed up in adorable costumes and get all excited about candy. So we dressed up the most adorable kids we know and got them all excited about candy!
Introducing our fairy princess, our tiny skeleton and our big bat (Kale's costume was made by Grandma Margie like 25 years ago!) Better pictures of all of them coming up.
Kate's little friend Madison was dressed as a chicken. I called her chicken little. After all the pictures I took at the mall I didn't get any good ones of their other friends. Katrina was also a fairy princess. Violet was a lion - so adorable. Toby was a muscle man. Hilarious. And his sister Grace was a cutie pie nurse. So many people I missed!Sunday was church then we had a servant leader banquet that night. The church staff cooked and served a meal to over 150 people. It was awesome and exhausting. But it was so much fun and the people of our church deserved it 100%.
Unfortunately Kale got pretty sick throughout the course of the evening. Even falling asleep on a friend's lap while Mark and I were serving dinner. He had a fever and sore throat. Poor kid was miserable. Kate was just tired from the long day. And Jack has had a really bad diaper rash due to massive amounts of liquid poo {thanks to teething} so he was in a terrible mood. Rough evening with kids but we had some awesome help from friends.
It was confirmed yesterday that Kale has strep. Not so fun but super easy to take care of and quick to get over. The kids and I made yet another trip to our Dr (6th trip in 2 weeks) and had it confirmed. Got him on antibiotics right away and he is well on his way to recovery. He's feeling much better today. Like his old self.
Kate got sleep and she's better and Jack got loads of Vaseline so he's better. Thank goodness for that! The kids played together so well today. You could tell they had missed each other yesterday. We caught up on a little more school and read lots of stories. Oh and we are cranking up the vitamin intake! Must stay well!
